Pattaya is within 100 km of three international airports, and the only deep water port on the Eastern seaboard. Pattaya has become a world renowned tourist destination, but was made popular by US Servicemen in the 1960s during the Vietnam War. Men stationed at U-Tapao Army Airfield would travel from Rayong to Pattaya Bay to enjoy the perfect half moon bay of golden sands that Pattaya is known for. Add to the beautiful bay the breezes for which Pattaya gets it's name and you have an ideal tropical paradise for rest and relaxation. Fast forward 5 decades and Pattaya has become a well known hotspot offering exciting nightlife, world class golf, five star hotels at 3 star prices, Asias largest seaside shopping mall, and more. Getting to Pattaya will become even easier as U-Tapao expands in the coming year.
